Studio Overview & Ethos

Our work spans boutique hotels, legacy properties, restaurants, lounges, and destination-driven environments. This breadth has shaped a studio fluent not only in aesthetics, but in the realities of budgets, staffing, brand standards, and long-term asset value.

At RoseBernard, design is a decision-making tool. We use narrative to create emotional connection, operational insight to reduce friction, and experience to guide choices that last beyond opening day.

Our work balances intuition with discipline — ensuring spaces feel human to guests and manageable to the teams who operate them.

An Interview with the Founders

  • Rob (Partner + Creative Director):
People always ask about the name RoseBernard Studio — and we love that question because it’s personal. Rose and Bernard were our grandparents. Rose, Justin’s grandmother, had a natural elegance and a gift for hospitality where everyone who walked into her home felt seen and cared for. Bernard, my grandfather, taught me craftsmanship, precision, and pride in doing things the right way. When we started the studio, we wanted to bring those two spirits together — heart and hand: the warmth and humanity of storytelling paired with design discipline and purpose.

    Justin (Partner + Design Director):
From the beginning, our focus has been the synthesis of narrative and function — merging conceptual storytelling with practical programmatic clarity. Each project becomes an exploration of how beauty and purpose coexist, where the design narrative isn’t just ornamental but essential. This union of story and structure defines the essence of our work at RoseBernard Studio.

  • Rob:
At the core, our work is about storytelling through space. Every project — whether it’s a resort bar in the desert or a café in Tampa — starts with the same question: What story do we want guests to feel when they walk in? That question guides everything we do.

    Justin:
We strive to design spaces that speak in a language of place, memory, and emotion. Each environment narrates a story rooted in its surroundings, letting history, culture, and atmosphere shape the experience — so each space feels specific and timeless.

  • Rob:
Our approach isn’t just about aesthetics — we stay with a design through branding, marketing, operations, and even post-opening strategy. We think like innkeepers, not just designers. Hospitality must earn its keep. A great bar, lobby, or guest room isn’t just décor — it’s a revenue engine and a stage for human connection.

    Justin:
Through meticulous layering of detail and discovery. We aim for moments that invite guests to find something new each time — a subtle reveal, a texture that evokes emotion, a composition that lingers. The excellence of a space is found in those small, deliberate gestures that together create wonder and depth.

  • Rob:
In our work, design and hospitality intersect with the human experience, and as the industry evolves, so does RoseBernard Studio. We think about trends like bleisure — where business and leisure blend — and how design can support that new rhythm of life: fluid, experiential, and connected.

    Justin:
Our mission continues to be about innovation with intention. We refuse repetition or formulaic design — each project demands its own vocabulary. Growth isn’t expansion for its own sake; it’s the constant refinement of ideas, processes, and craft.

  • Rob:
We believe design must be rooted in authentic hospitality. It’s not about trophies or trends — it’s about spaces that bring people together, that matter economically and emotionally to those who operate them and those who visit them.

    Justin:
Our pillars are craft, integrity, and authenticity. We design with an unwavering commitment to place. Trends are transient; authenticity endures. Every aesthetic choice is grounded in story, meaning, and intent — not novelty.

  • Rob:
Our studio thrives because everyone brings their unique perspective, enriching the work and dialogue. Collaboration and diversity of thought drive stronger outcomes.

    Justin:
Our team is a tapestry of perspectives — each designer contributes their own cultural, academic, and artistic lens. This diversity fuels creativity and makes design a collective art form, strengthened by curiosity and shared exploration.

  • Rob:
We remain deeply involved in every project — from concept to completion — blending strategy with creative thinking. We don’t just hand off a design and disappear; we’re partners throughout the lifecycle of a project.

    Justin:
We don’t delegate vision. We are hands-on throughout the process — ensuring that each space embodies depth, precision, and passion. We balance soul with strategy, and that holistic approach sets us apart.

RoseBernard Studio offers a hands-on, interdisciplinary approach to hospitality design — grounded in experience and guided by clarity.
